Services

We will undertake repair and restoration on all types of vintage and antique clocks including mantel clocks, wall clocks, tall case clocks, 400-day or anniversary clocks, cuckoo clocks and electric clocks.

All repair work is backed by a 12 month warranty, excluding mainsprings.

Each and every clock which comes to us for repair is treated as special and unique, because we know it is special and unique to you. We treat every clock as though it was one of our own collection.

Routine maintenance is required on antique clock movements, just as it is required for your car's engine to give you long and trouble free service. For an antique clock, this maintenance involves an initial inspection of the movement to check operation and identify repairs which may be required. We then completely disassemble the movement into its component parts. Each part is cleaned to remove all traces of dirt, oil and residues and inspected for wear which may affect the proper functioning of the clock or impact accurate timekeeping. After each part has been inspected and repaired if required, the movement is reassembled, lubricated and tested for correct operation. We then bench test the movement for a period of at least 2-3 days to ensure all is well before we replace the movement in its case. The clock is then tested for a period of at least one week and regulated to keep time accurately.

Restoration work is of course different for each and every antique clock. The movement will be completely overhauled, and the case brought back to its original finish as far as is possible.

Your clock can be brought to us at our workshop, mailed to us, or we operate a pick up/drop off service within a 30 mile radius of our shop. Contact us for details.
